Overnight Photography Workshop April 20-21st, 2013
$80 per person. Limit of 6 students.
A overnight canyoneering experience not to be missed by the avid outdoors photographer.
This exclusive overnight photography workshop will take place in one of the most beautiful and seldom photographed granite canyons in Central Arizona.
We will rendezvous Saturday at 11:30 for lunch at the El Ray Mexican Restaurant in Globe and meet professional photographer Michael Madsen. Following lunch we will carpool to Salome Jug in the Sierra Anchas Wilderness Area and establish camp at the mouth of the canyon. Then we will float a short distance to the jug for dramatic photos of the canyon narrows. Early Sunday morning we will hike to the top of the canyon rim and explore the upper part of the canyon.
This workshop is a canyoneering experience.
Our journey involves off trail hiking and camping. We will be canyoneering in Salome Jug in the Sierra Anchas Wilderness Area where we will hike along surfaces that are steep, slippery and we will get wet. Tent, food, water shoes, floatation device (inflatable pool tube) and tripod are strongly recommended, a desire for adventure is required! Please check our suggested pack list for ideas.
To register for this trip, contact Michael Madsen 480 310-2374 or madsen56@hotmail.com

Salome Creek
Workshop for adventurous wilderness photographers looking to add dramatic photos to their portfolio.
Grab your digital single lens reflex camera, floatation device and dry bag to keep your equipment dry as we shoot in the diverse lighting conditions of Salome Jug Canyon. Beginner and intermediate photographers be prepared to mount your camera on a tripod and switch your camera to manual and learn how to take charge of your camera. Our goal is to provide personal instruction and teach techniques for improving your photography skills in manual mode. This workshop is scheduled for the new moon so we will have the added bonus of expanding our nighttime photography skills!
